Creating Compelling Characters Writing Workshop with Jan Carson
Description
What makes a character believable and memorable? How do you go about writing characters people will want to spend time with?
In this interactive workshop we’ll take a close look at some of the world’s best loved characters and develop our own from scratch, learning how to weave found material and real-life experience into the people who populate our stories. We’ll look at motivation, physical description, character growth and how to make characters feel distinct. Through a variety of fun writing exercises and chats, we’ll also spend some time thinking about the relationship between character and plot.
For Ages: 12-16 / Duration: 120 mins.
Start Time: 3.30pm (Exit Time: 5.30pm).
Venue: Lyric Theatre, Belfast.
