Description

Have an enchanting Christmas evening at the Ulster Folk Museum.

Wander the cobbled streets and enjoy authentic exhibit buildings adorned with homemade wreaths and dressed with decorations as they would have been years ago. Taste traditional Christmas cake as you meet their talented craft demonstrators, from willow weaving and wool weaving to blacksmithing and printing! Sing Christmas carols with Fortwilliam Musical Society and enjoy the sounds of a harpist and Comber Brass Brand.

Visit the donkeys at the Marketplace and make some old Christmas decorations to take home at their festive craft station, fun for all ages. Pick up Christmas gifts from the shop and don't forget to post your letter to Santa in their old post box. Stop by McCusker's pub and listen to a Christmas story as you enjoy a mulled wine, hot toddy or spiced cider (please drink responsibly).

There might even be snow!

Christmas Evenings will be taking place on the following dates:

  • Friday 6th December
  • Friday 13th December

What to know:

  • An accessible bus will be available on both dates to transport visitors from the lower car park to the museum. They recommend making use of public transport where possible. Green tickets offer a 20% discount with proof of a public transport ticket at admissions on the evening.
  • Please note, they recommend online booking for their Christmas Evenings as this is a popular event and walk-ups will be limited.
  • There is a 50% members' discount on Christmas Evenings tickets. They ask members to still pre-book in advance and bring your membership ID.
