Autism Friendly Clip ‘n Climb and Soft Play Sessions at High Rise Lisburn
Description
High Rise family adventure centre in Lisburn will ‘go quiet’ one Sunday a month for an autism/SEND friendly Clip ‘n Climb and soft play session.
At High Rise it is always their aim to be inclusive and accessible at all times for their guests but they know that sometimes just a few small adjustments can make all the difference for someone with additional needs.
High Rise can sometimes be busy and noisy, so one Sunday a month they offer a ‘quiet session’ to support guests with special educational needs and sensory processing disorders and allow them to visit the centre in an environment that is more comfortable.
What is different during the autism tailored sessions?
- Smaller sessions, fewer people in the climbing arena
- No music playing in the centre
- Shorter, autism friendly safety briefing
- Soft play age increased to 12 years old
- Staff specially trained by Autism NI and Guide Dogs NI
As always, their instructors are available to provide support and encouragement throughout the sessions.
Clip 'n Climb is suitable for those aged 4+, including autistic adults and parents/carers can also participate in the activity if they like, or can join them in the climbing arena to provide support without climbing themselves.
Should you require, they have noise cancelling headphones available at reception to borrow or you are welcome to bring your own.
There is a Changing Places toilet facility available within High Rise.
Should you require any additional support during your visit please do not hesitate to let a member of staff know.
*Please note that the Leap of Faith is not available during these sessions.
Pre-booking is strongly advised for these events as they often sell out in advance.
