Description

Enriching lives through music, in Belfast and Beyond.

As the region's only professional symphony orchestra, and one of its cultural cornerstones, the Ulster Orchestra has toured throughout Europe, Asia and the United States.

Formed in 1966, the Ulster Orchestra has 63 full-time musicians and has established itself as one of the major symphony orchestras in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Its main concert season takes place in the Ulster Hall and the Belfast Waterfront between September and May, however the orchestra also gives many performances throughout the year at venues across Northern Ireland. It has also performed many times at the National Concert Hall in Dublin and Royal Albert Hall in London.

With a mission to enrich the lives of people living in Northern Ireland, those visiting, and those who encounter it through international touring and regular radio and TV broadcasts with both BBC Northern Ireland and BBC Radio 3, the Orchestra strives for excellence in all it undertakes, be it regular concert performances, learning and community engagement programmes, or creative collaborations across the arts.
