Description

Paddle in the surf along the mile long beach, a long time favourite for families to take a dip and build sand castles.

Nowadays the beach is used all year round by wet suited windsurfers who come from all over Northern Ireland to skim along its waves in the breeze. Children love to paddle here and build sand castles, it's the perfect place for a family day out with a bucket and spade.

The terraces of handsome houses along the esplanade provide a pleasant backdrop to bracing walks along the promenade towards Ballymacormick Point.

Ballymacormick Point

At the east end of the sandy beach of Ballyholme Bay is the narrow track through Ballymacormick Point. The gorse scrub, shingle beaches, rocky islets and coves offer a wilder area and escape from the crowds.
