Nature Exploration Day
Description
Celebrate the amazing nature-based research at the Ulster Folk Museum on Saturday 26th July!
Learn about species living on your doorstop and handle natural sciences objects with Ulster Folk Museum Education Officer Nigel Gilmore-Cook. While you're there, why not take the opportunity to ask him any questions you might have about animals from all around the world?
Discover Freshwater Insects with Curator of Natural Sciences, Helen James and find out how to spot species that live and grow in Northern Ireland with Amy Laird from the Centre for Environmental and Data Recording. You can also take part in a Flower-Insect Timed Count with Hannah Fullerton from Buglife and Rosie Irwin from Butterfly Conservation at the museum throughout the day.
There will be plenty of opportunities to connect with nature, from investigating mini-beasts up close and creating nature-themed crafts to tasting foraged foods on site. This is a family-friendly day packed with activities designed to help you appreciate the world around you in a whole new way.
