The Reporter
The Reporter is a dog-friendly pub in Belfast that offers indoor and covered outdoor seating for you and your furry best friend. Situated on Union Street, neighbouring the Irish News offices and the old Belfast Telegraph building, the intimate bar’s warm and welcoming interior is clad with artefacts and memorabilia, illustrating the city’s colourful history through the eyes of the press. Bullhouse East
Bullhouse East is Belfast’s very first permanent taproom, serving 20 taps of the freshest craft beer and woodfired pizza Belfast has to offer. Bullhouse East love well behaved four legged friends and will have treats and water bowls available inside and out. They just ask that your dogs are well behaved and have some rules in place.
The Crafty Vintner Tasting Room
The Crafty Vintner’s pup-friendly Terrace welcomes all good boys and girls, all the time. Be sure to grab your pups and join them for wine & cheese tasting. From brunch and coffee by day to cheese and wine by night, The Crafty Vintner has something for every mood and occasion.
Dirty Onion
The Dirty Onion is an authentic Irish pub with a twist, housed in one of Belfast’s oldest buildings. Sit indoors and enjoy trad music, or make the most of the large heated beer garden. The pub’s line-up of events includes regular doggy get-togethers, including Pooch Socials and Hot Dawg BBQs.
Hickson's Point
This 1900s-style public house at Titanic Belfast holds on to the historic feel of the shipyard with traditional music, heritage décor and locally produced food. Now a dog-friendly venue, you can enjoy a pint, nibbles and music with your furry friend before taking going for walkies along the dockside.
Pug Uglys
This quirky Irish venue is loved for its tasty pub grub, live sports, music and comedy, with themed nights during the week including Taco Tuesday and Wednesday quiz nights. Dogs are welcome inside the pub and water bowls are available in the outdoor seating area.
Ben Madigan's Bar & Kitchen
Ben Madigan’s Bar and Kitchen is a welcoming community bar in the North of the City. They are located on the Cavehill Road, only a few minutes’ drive from Belfast Castle, the Cavehill Country Park and Belfast Zoo. Your furry friends are welcome! Their snug and terrace are dog friendly!
Lamppost Café
The Lamppost Café is a Narnia-themed family run coffee shop in east Belfast. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or sweet treats in this quaint venue complete with ragtime music and vintage crockery. Bring your pooch along too, then head to the nearby CS Lewis Square for walkies.
St George's Market
Your canine friends are welcome in the market. St George’s Market is one of Belfast’s oldest attractions and one of the best markets in the UK and Ireland. Enjoy some of the finest fresh produce with your furry friend. Dog bowls with water are available at the May Street entrance and exit. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
Parks and Walkies
From chasing sticks to meeting locals, your dog will love exploring Belfast’s parks, gardens and walkies trails. Just remember to keep them on a lead, and pick up dog waste and put it in the bin.
Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park
Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park in south Belfast is one of the city’s most popular parks. With more than 128 acres of rolling meadows, woodland and gardens it contains a number of walks and trails popular with doggies and owners alike.
Cave Hill Country Park
Cave Hill offers incredible views across Belfast from vantage points on the hillside. Access the park from Belfast Castle or Belfast Zoo car parks, then take a hike to the top. Dogs should be kept on a lead but they’ll love exploring the wide open space.
Drumglass Park
Drumglass Park is located between the Lisburn and Malone Roads in south Belfast. It is also known locally as Cranmore or Marlborough Park. This gorgeous park offers six lovely acres for you and your dog to get some fresh air together.
Botanic Gardens
Take a stroll through Botanic Gardens; a beautiful park dating back to 1828 which today is a popular for concerts, festivals and other events. Then make your way to the Lagan Towpath, a dog-friendly path along the River Lagan that stretches from south Belfast to Lisburn.
Stormont Estate
Stormont Estate is the ideal spot to walk your dog. Featuring a variety of walks, including two woodland trails, there is also a dedicated dog park, where dogs can go without their lead and let loose.
Walks
Take your walkies in one of these stunning coastal and waterside walks, just minutes from the city centre. Follow the Lagan Towpath along the canal system from Belfast to Lisburn. Explore North Down Coastal Path from Holywood to Orlock or tackle the sand dunes at Murlough National Nature Reserve.
